Henry W. Sykes
Henry W. Sykes is President and a director of MGM Energy Corp.
Mr. Sykes was President of ConocoPhillips Canada from 2001 to 2006. Prior thereto, he was Executive Vice-President, Business Development of Gulf Canada Resources.
Henry is a lawyer by training. He began his career in 1983 as an associate with the Calgary firm of Bennett Jones, eventually becoming a partner and member of the firm’s management committee. While at Bennett Jones, Henry specialized in mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate law.
Henry was born in Montreal, speaking only French until his parents moved to Calgary in the mid-sixties. He finished high school in Calgary, and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in economics from McGill University in Montreal, and a law degree from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta as well as the Law Society of England and Wales. He currently serves as a director of Ferus Trust, and has served as a director of various public and private corporations and not-for-profit corporations, including the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers.
Gary Bunio
Gary is a professional engineer with over 27 years of experience in the upstream petroleum industry in Canada and internationally. His most recent position was the Manager of Oil Sands and Sahtu Development with Paramount Resources. Prior to that held senior technical and management roles in research and development, operations, and project development at two of the largest North American oil and gas producers. Gary has delivered several technical and process innovations in oil sands, offshore and arctic development including a patented process to reduce emissions from oil sands developments.
Gary was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, now a part of Winnipeg. Gary obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1980 and a Masters of Quality Management from Loyola University, New Orleans, U.S.A. in 1998.
Gary is a member of the Associations of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and the N.W.T. and the Canadian Petroleum Society and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Nancy Dilts
Prior to joining MGM Energy, Nancy was Vice President Legal for ConocoPhillips Canada where her portfolio included responsibility for the company’s legal services, information technology group, and corporate security, privacy and procurement functions. Nancy’s extensive oil and gas experience and legal background combine to strategically position MGM’s regulatory and legal requirements for new frontier exploration in Canada’s Arctic.
Nancy received her LLB in 1988 and a BA (Hons.) in 1985, both from the University of Saskatchewan. Nancy started her legal career in Calgary in 1989 as an associate with one of Calgary's major law firms and entered the oil and gas industry in 1995.
Nancy is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and the Law Society of Alberta.
John Hogg
In his most recent role as Manager, Frontier and New Ventures Exploration with ConocoPhillips Canada, John concentrated on the Mackenzie Delta/Beaufort Sea regions of Northern Canada where he was successful in leading a multidisciplinary team of geologist, geophysicists and reservoir engineers in high risk exploration. John brings his extensive knowledge of the region, his proven exploration experience, and his keen leadership skills to the MGM team.
John earned his B.Sc. in Geology from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario Canada in 1981. After graduation, John joined Gulf Canada Resources and has since worked for a number of Canadian and International energy companies focusing his specialty on the Atlantic and Arctic frontier regions.
John is an active member of the Council of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA), and a member of the Northwest Territories Association of Engineers, Geologist and Geophysicist (NAPEGG). John is also an active member of: the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG); the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), as well as a member and Past President of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG). He is a frequent contributor to industry journals as well as a presenter at industry conferences.
Rick Miller
Rick has over 23 years of experience in accounting, financing and treasury at both banking institutions and corporations, including Bank of Montreal, Gulf Canada Resources Ltd. (and its successor Conoco Canada Limited) and Precision Drilling Corporation. Most recently, Rick was Vice-President Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Wave Energy Ltd., a privately held oil and gas company.
Rick graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. He also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
